Without understanding all the concepts, picture (if you will)
the Feudal World being trapped within a time bubble that loops
continuously in the real world. A set game or "Era"
can last anywhere from 2 to 3 months before the ladder is
reset, recording the scores and levelling the playing field.
The game pattern follows something similiar to below
A - (Freeze Period) - New players will often select and join
an empire and talk about strategies to prepare them for the
upcoming Era. Most will pick similar names to each other,
with some even opting to pick the same races or advisor types.
This last for a period of 1 to 2 real days.
B1 - This marks the start of the Era, where each realm is
under a state of growth. To protect realms at this vulnerable
state, each realm is put under a state of "Global Immunity".
This protects the realm from any hostile actions towards it,
whether this be military, sorcery or espionage. Furthermore,
this realm is also unable to make any hostile actions towards
any other realms. This period last for approximately 3 real
days
B2 - The majority of the game lies within this area. Here
realms can join forces with those in their empire for world
domination using military, sorcery, espionage or other means
as they see fit. During this period, realms do not have the
luxury of "Global Immunity" hence a military force
will be required least they befall to their enemies. This
period can last anywhere from 60 - 100 real days.
B3 - This signifies Era is drawing to an end. You will find
as this draws closer, many hostile empires will try numerous
tactics in order to get ahead and make their names known on
the World Rankings. This period changes each age, but will
approximately occur during the final 14 real days of the era
ending.
C - (Freeze Period) - The Era has come to an end. Players
sort out who is going to following them into the next Era
and who will leave to find additional challenges. World Rankings
are updated, finalised and posted forever in the Hall Of Fame.
This period will last for approximately 1 to 2 days. This
will then loop back to step A.

Game is frozen roughly 48 hours before the
era starts, and approximately 48 hours before the end of the
era. This allows players to discuss strategies and prepare
themselves. During this period of freeze you are able to communicate
with other realms but you will not be able to perform build
any structures, train military, engage in offensive sorcery,
espionage or combat. It would be good to note that even whilst
any game actions are frozen, the time will increment as normal.
